CPLD Credential Eligibility Pathways

The Certified Professional in Learning & Development (CPLD) is designed for early-career professionals and emerging practitioners with up to 10 years of professional experience who are building expertise in learning and development, capability development, workforce growth, training and professional development.

Applicants may qualify through one of the following pathways.

Pathway 1
Professional Learning Pathway
Who is it for?

Individuals who are beginning their professional journey and do not have prior formal training, existing credentials or relevant professional experience in Learning & Development.

Requirements / Process
  • Complete the required ILDC-approved learning programme or recognised training from ILDC Accredited Learning Provider
  • Meet the eligibility requirements for the CPLD Credential
  • Successfully complete the ILDC assessment process
Outcome

The Certified Professional in Learning & Development (CPLD) Credential is awarded upon successful completion of all credential requirements.

Pathway 2
Professional Recognition Pathway
Who is it for?

Early-career professionals and emerging practitioners with up to 10 years of professional experience who have already developed capability through professional practice, prior training, recognised qualifications or existing professional credentials in Learning & Development or related disciplines.

Requirements / Process
  • Demonstrate relevant professional experience aligned with the CPLD recognition requirements
  • Submit evidence of prior training, recognised qualifications, existing credentials and/or professional experience
  • Successfully complete the ILDC assessment process

The Certified Professional in Learning & Development (CPLD) Credential is awarded upon successful completion of all credential requirements.

The pathway establishes how eligibility is demonstrated, while the standard for awarding the credential remains consistent for every applicant.
