The Certified Master in Learning & Development (CMLD™) is designed for experienced professionals with 10+ years of professional experience who demonstrate strategic influence, leadership, and capability development across learning ecosystems, workforce transformation, training and organizational growth.
Applicants may qualify through one of the following pathways.
Experienced professionals with 10+ years of professional experience who wish to strengthen their strategic capability through advanced professional learning before applying for professional recognition.
- Complete the required ILDC approved advanced Learning & Development programme or recognised training from ILDC Accredited Learning Provider
- Meet the eligibility requirements for the CMLD™ Credential
- Successfully complete the ILDC assessment and professional recognition process
The Certified Master in Learning & Development (CMLD™) Credential is awarded upon successful completion of all credential requirements.
Experienced professionals with 10+ years of professional experience who have already developed strategic capability through professional leadership, prior training, recognised qualifications, existing credentials and demonstrated contribution across Learning & Development or related disciplines.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Submit evidence of prior learning, recognised qualifications, existing professional credentials and strategic leadership experience
- Provide supporting documentation demonstrating organizational impact and professional contribution (where applicable)
- Successfully complete the ILDC assessment and professional recognition process

Professional Excellence Is Continuous
The CMLD™ credential is valid for a period of three years from the date of award. This validity period reflects the dynamic nature of strategic learning and development leadership, where the field continues to evolve in response to organizational demands, workforce transformation and global standards.
To ensure the CMLD™ credential continues to represent the highest internationally recognized standard of mastery in learning and development leadership, credential holders are required to complete a structured renewal process at the end of each three-year cycle.
